2009 Dr. Jack Witte Memorial FCA Golf Day
The Dr. Jack R. Witte Memorial FCA Golf Day will be held on Thursday, October 1st at East Ridge Country Club. We will be playing golf and raising money to help make a difference in the lives of young people in Northwest Louisiana. The Marathon is a wonderful day of fun, food, and fellowship and it is truly an experience that you don't want to miss out on.
We are excited to announce a few changes to this year's event. First, we have changed venues. East Ridge Country Club has agreed to partner with us to host this year's event. East Ridge is a private club in Shreveport and their commitment to excellence can be seen in every aspect of the golfing experience. We are also excited to announce that this year we have changed the format of the event. Unlike previous years where golfers tried to play as many holes in a day as possible, this year's event will only consist of 36 holes of golf. Each golfer will play a morning round and an afternoon round. In between each round, golfers will be treated to an excellent sit down lunch in the East Ridge dining room. A shift in the format of the event will also bring a slight shift in the strategy of securing sponsors. Along with their donation of $100, each golfer will be challenged to secure 24 sponsors who will match their tax-deductible donation. For their participation in the event, each golfer will also receive a tee gift that will not disappoint.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for local golfers to help FCA reach out the the young people in our area. We are celebrating 55 years of FCA and we believe that FCA is needed more today than ever before. God is using FCA in our schools to change the lives of our students for eternity.
